October 24 | International Day of Climate Action

International Day of Climate Action brings people together to call for meaningful action on climate change. Its roots trace back to a global campaign organized by 350.org in 2009, when people in 181 countries participated in thousands of events urging stronger climate leadership.

The day encourages individuals, communities, businesses, and governments to turn awareness into action: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, protecting natural environments, supporting sustainable practices, and advocating for policies that address climate change. It’s a reminder that progress requires both everyday choices and broader changes in how we live and work.

In healthcare, that action can begin with the products we choose.

At NewGen Surgical, we redesign everyday medical products and packaging using plant-based materials to reduce plastic entering the waste stream and lower the CO₂e emissions associated with producing healthcare supplies.

Together with our healthcare partners, we’ve helped eliminate over 1.2 million pounds of plastic and avoid over 1.17 million kilograms of CO₂e emissions—measurable progress toward a healthier planet.

This International Day of Climate Action, let’s consider how the decisions we make today can support the future we want to create.

Small Change. Big impact.
