R&D and Materials Engineer, Kyle Yue, Joins NewGen Surgical

New Position to Accelerate Circular Design Innovation for Products used in the OR, patient care and healthcare packaging.

San Rafael, California, October 18, 2022   – Kyle Yue joined the NewGen team as an R&D Materials Engineer. With a Master’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Penn State University with a focus on Biomaterials, Kyle’s expertise is perfectly aligned with NewGen Surgical’s mission to create products with sustainable materials clinically suitable for healthcare environments.

Kyle is from Elk Grove, California, and studied at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering. Throughout his college experience, Kyle worked as a research associate at Sinclair Systems International, an associate at Cal Poly Materials Engineering Department, and a graduate research assistant at Penn State Cancer Institute. “I was born and raised in the Sacramento area,” said Kyle Yue, “I’m happy to start my career at NewGen Surgical where I can use my knowledge and background in a rapidly growing field. Add that I’m doing impactful work with a close-knit team, I’m highly motivated to make a difference for the future of the planet we live on.”

NewGen Surgical’s mission is to create a safer, healthier, and more sustainable planet for generations to come with our sustainably designed bio-based products. In only a few decades, the introduction of synthetic plastic and plastic pollution is increasingly compounding itself, meaning the effects of the next 50 years will far outweigh the impact of the last 50.[1] Experts predict plastic pollution could reach 1.3 billion tons by 2040, and it’s the next generation that will inherit this disaster.[2] “ The amazing people who join our company have the opportunity to make a difference in the world by helping transform one of the largest industries of plastic pollution and carbon emissions – healthcare. We’ve been fortunate to add incredibly dedicated, talented, and accomplished graduates like Kyle that aspire to be a part of our mission to redesign healthier healthcare products that reduce plastic, chemicals of concern and Scope 3 emissions,” said Kimberlee Luedee-Chase, co-founder and CMO at NewGen Surgical.
